Come to hear local legend and Sarasota Music Club member Dale Jensen on flute and his lovely wife Barbara on piano.

Dale promises this will be a Flututorial, giving the audience information and insights as well as a delightful performance. He's well equipped to do just that, as he was Principal Flute with the Sarasota Pops for 21 years, then spent 5 years as their conductor.

While studying for his bachelor's and master's degrees at FSU, Dale played with the Mobile and Jacksonville symphonies. He also played with the Savannah Symphony while teaching band in a south Georgia high school.

Since moving to the Suncoast in 1971, he has been deeply involved in the local music scene. He founded I Solisti d'Oneco, a woodwind quintet, to provide programs in Manatee and Sarasota county schools; he recently retired from that group, which has since been taken over by The First Brass organization.

Barbara met Dale in a practice room in the FSU music building. They married, and Barbara raised their three children while keeping up with church organist work she has been involved in since college days. She currently serves as pianist for the Manatee Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship. after 26 years at St. George Episcopal on a 22-rank pipe organ - that Dale built! She also plays viola and piano with Sarasota Pops (and Dale says she makes the "Best Meatloaf in the Galaxy").

Be prepared to enjoy a great music partnership and some enjoyable fellowship with fellow music lovers.

Refreshments and social hour begins at 10 a.m.

Concert begins at 10:30 a.m.

Non-members are asked to contribute a small donation ($2 minimum) to help support the organization's performance and scholarship programs.
