85th Anniversary Awards & Recognition Luncheon

Sarasota Music Club ended its 2015-2016 season with the 85h Anniversary Awards & Recognition Luncheon held on May 2 at Michael's on East.

Representatives from 10 organizations that received donations through an $8,500 anniversary donation program were honored, and four graduating high school seniors were awarded scholarships. A special award was presented to June Buck for her longstanding service on the board of directors. (Outgoing board president Wes Snyder was ill and received his award after the luncheon.)

Scholarship winners, who performed at the luncheon, were: Nick Drivas, baritone; Zoe Verbil, mezzo-soprano; Jillian Polk, mezzo-soprano; and Adriana Fernandez, soprano. Drivas, a musical theater major, ended the program with a marvelous encore performance of the popular "Some Enchanted Evening" from Rogers & Hammerstein's "South Pacific."

Sarasota Music Club wishes to thank all the members, volunteers, Sunnyside and Michael's on East staff, and program attendees for helping to make it a marvelous and memorable milestone anniversary year.
